The latest from Tall and Tiny Tales
Did you know …
… that I launched Tall and Tiny Tales waaaay back on 1st February 2022? Where did all that time go?
My heartfelt thanks to all of you who have been with me from the beginning (a surprisingly large number) and to everyone who’s hopped on board since then.
The Tuesday Tale has come out every single Tuesday at 5 p.m. (Melbourne time) for two-and-a-half years.
On 1st July 2022, I launched the Friday Novella, which has come out every Friday for over two years now. A special thank you to the generous readers who support the Friday Novella with their paid subscriptions.
All told, that makes 240-odd story episodes, let’s say roughly 1,000 words on average, each with an original illustration or photo and an audio reading. Near as dammit a quarter of a million words. That’s the equivalent of three full-length novels and audiobooks.
The latest Friday Novella alone, Black Spur, turned out to be a Friday Novel. It’s been a year in the writing, running to 47 chapters and 56,000 words.
It’s all been a lot of fun, and I’m really pleased with how you’ve received the ramblings of my over-excited imagination.
I’m taking a break
Let’s be honest though: it’s also been hard work at times, coming up with new story developments twice a week, every week. Alongside the ‘day job’ writing, music teaching and other stuff.
So I’m taking a break to recharge the grey cells. It’s an auspicious time for one:

👉 Black Spur ends on Friday 2nd August – today!
I’ll be back soon, with two new stories I think you’ll like. I’ve already got them planned out in my head, though nothing yet written down. I’ll let you know more closer to the time.
I’m not being coy here – just cautious, in case they prove to be unwritable. I like to fly by the seat of my pants while writing, but time to deploy a parachute would occasionally be nice.

Payment pause
Because I’m taking a break, I’ve paused paid subscriptions.
Subscribers: you don’t need to do anything.
The billing cycles for subscribers are now frozen. New readers will not be able to pay, and existing subscribers won’t be charged.
On Tuesday 1st October, I’ll unpause payments and the billing cycle will resume.
