G’day!
It’s the start of winter down here on the Victorian coast. So Susan and I got the winter gear on for our beach walk this morning. It was about 8˚C, yet some hardy souls were out in the surf in their bathers. Brrrr!
Beach Walker
Whenever I go to Ocean Grove beach these days, I think of Grace and Leonard from Beach Walker – the ‘short’ story which turned out to be a novella. Some stories just grow in the telling.
We’re on Chapter 17 of 24 right now. If you signed up recently:
Seed
Over at the Friday Novella we bade farewell to Jacky Winter last week, and Seed has just begun.
Seed
Artist Sal has left the Murray for Melbourne city. We join him as he arrives at Flinders Street Station on a wet spring morning. His plan to stay with an old friend has turned sour, leaving him homeless, without a studio – and very, very cranky. A chance meeting in a Laneways café sets him on a new path …
A subscription to the Friday Novella gives you immediate access to three complete novellas (Cast Ashore, Stingaree Bay, Jacky Winter) as well as weekly instalments of Seed. All for US$5 a month.
