I always learn new stuff in writing a story. My favourite novels as a reader are ones where I get immersed in aspects of life and the world I might never have thought about before. It takes a certain level of audacity to really ‘go there’ as a writer and commit to one’s content, don’t you think?
I think you're right. That must be why so many people assume fiction if based on your experience. The audacity of writing about what you don't know anything about.
