The Iron Rule. In the Blue Mountains, ex-barrister Marg Jansen is trying to reinvent herself as a CSA farmer. Her little community of international volunteers is rocked by a tragedy.
Steve, I'm still knocked out at your ability to write so perfectly well in a woman's voice. I truly envy your wife. Seriously. Great story and I can't wait for the next chapter! Bravo! :D
Thank you, Dee! I've learned over the decades what is guaranteed to irritate and annoy a woman, by observation, hypothesis and extensive field trials 😉. I'm glad to know that the research is finally paying off.
Thanks, Carolyn. I first came across Maremmas while staying on the farm that 'Forked Creek' is very, very loosely based on. They will bond with pretty much any livestock, I believe, and are courageous guardians. There's a 'pastured poultry' operation not far from us on the Bellarine Peninsula which uses them to protect the chooks.

Liking it so far (apart from the demise of the dogs, of course). And Susan’s reading of it.xxxx
Thanks! Yeah, sorry about the dogs ... I’ll tell Susan 😊
Oh no, poor Ferdi and Bella.
I've never heard of maremma sheepdogs so thank you for introducing me to another breed of dogs.
Lovely hearing Susan read the story. :)

I'll pass on the praise to Susan 😊
